What do I need to get started with Outlook Email Tracker?

You've decided you would like to give Outlook Email Tracker a try and start taking control of the use of email in your organisation, but what are the system requirements for running the software?



The Outlook Email Tracker plugin works with local installed instances of Outlook running on Windows workstations. It should be installed on the workstation of every user whose email traffic is to be tracked.

The plugin is not available for web or mobile versions of Outlook. It is only compatible on the desktop app.

The plugin works if your Exchange mail servers are on-premises or cloud-based (Office 365).

The Outlook Tracker Analytics application should be installed on the workstation of any users requiring business insight into tracked email traffic.

A SQL database must be available on the same local (not internet/cloud) network as these workstations - this connects to all workstations running the plugin and/or Analytics application.


Plugin Compatibility

The plugin is compatible with these locally installed Outlook Clients running Windows 7, 10 or 11:

  • Office 2019
  • Office 2016
